Chris Paul II Shines in Sophomore Season at Campbell Hall |
Following in his father's footsteps, Paul II makes a mark on the court |
Standing tall at 6-foot-1, Chris Paul II is carving out his own legacy on the basketball court, reminiscent of his father's illustrious career during the Lob City era.
In the season opener for Campbell Hall, Paul II delivered an impressive 25-point performance, setting the tone for the Vikings' campaign.
Shortly thereafter, he showcased his scoring prowess by dropping 33 points and recording four steals in a decisive victory over Madison (Dallas).
Growing up, Paul II was immersed in the world of professional basketball, watching his father, Chris Paul, excel with teams like New Orleans, Houston, Oklahoma City, Phoenix, Golden State, San Antonio, and the Clippers.
The elder Paul, a 12-time All-Star and future Hall of Famer, ranks second in both steals and assists in NBA history.
He honed his skills at West Forsyth High School in Clemmons, North Carolina, before becoming a top-10 recruit in the Class of 2003.
In the McDonald's All-American game, he dished out 10 assists alongside LeBron James before committing to Wake Forest for two years.
Emulating his father's versatile playstyle, Paul II contributes beyond scoring.
On December 2, he tallied five points but achieved career highs with nine assists and eight rebounds, leading the Vikings to an 80-57 win.
In the subsequent game, he added seven assists and three steals, further demonstrating his all-around capabilities.
During a standout five-game stretch in December, Paul II averaged 16.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 1.4 steals per contest.
This impressive run began exactly 20 years after Jrue Holiday delivered a 24-point performance as a sophomore at Campbell Hall, highlighting the program's rich history of nurturing talent.
As the season progresses, Paul II continues to develop his game, aiming to lead the Vikings to success and uphold the family's basketball legacy. |
