West Forsyth Football Season Ends in Loss to Hough in NCHSAA 8A Playoffs |
Dominant Performance Propels Hough to West Regional Final |
West Forsyth's football season has come to an end. The Hough Huskies defeated the Titans in a decisive 28-10 victory over the West Forsyth Titans on Friday night in the 2025 NCHSAA 8A football playoffs. Next up, Hough will play West Charlotte Lions in the 8A West Regional Final.
Quarterback Ethan Royal led the charge, delivering three touchdown passes that dismantled the Titans' defense.
West Forsyth, known for their formidable defense that hadn't conceded more than 10 points since September, struggled to contain Hough's offensive prowess.
Royal connected with Jayden White, Jahmere Anderson, and Mason Pearsall-Brown for touchdowns, highlighting the Huskies' versatile attack.
The game began with a slow first quarter, culminating in a 13-yard field goal by West Forsyth's kicker, Kosta Dupuy.
However, Hough quickly responded in the second quarter with a 34-yard touchdown pass from Royal to Anderson.
Momentum shifted further when Hough's defensive back, Jason Wilkerson, intercepted a pass, setting up a 7-yard touchdown run by Jamarion Morrison, extending the lead to 14-3.
Despite West Forsyth's efforts, including a 27-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Haines Robitzer to Braylen Marrow, the Titans couldn't bridge the gap.
Penalties plagued West Forsyth, granting Hough advantageous field positions throughout the game.
After the match, Royal emphasized the team's focus: "They had a good D-line, good defense; we just had to win up front. We were just trying to dominate up front and just do what we do."
With this victory, Hough advances to the NCHSAA 8A West Regional final, where they will face defending 3A state champion West Charlotte next Friday at home.
West Forsyth concludes their season with a commendable 10-3 record, reflecting their resilience and competitive spirit throughout the year. |
