The West Forsyth Titans cemented their legacy in local softball with a dramatic 3-2 victory over East Forsyth, clinching the Central Piedmont Conference Tournament Championship at Reagan High School.
Trailing 1-0 with two outs in the seventh, sophomore Lilliana Parker smashed a crucial RBI double, electrifying the Clemmons supporters and forcing extra innings.
Pitching ace Morgan Maxwell delivered a legendary performance, striking out 18 in 11 gritty innings to stifle East Forsyth’s hitters and keep the Titans alive.
Freshman Jessica Makkas became the hero in the 11th, dashing home safely on a passed ball to deliver the title and send teammates into a wild celebration.
This triumph not only avenges an earlier loss to the Eagles but also extends West Forsyth’s winning streak to nine as they enter the NCHSAA state playoffs.
