On January 29, 2026, the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners approved the allocation of $115,520.12 in Adoption Promotion Program funds to boost local adoption initiatives.
These funds, supplied by North Carolinaâs Division of Social Services, will strengthen efforts to recruit and support adoptive families in the community.
Commissioners highlighted ongoing shortages in foster-home placements and acknowledged the urgent need for more families to step forward.
County staff plan an intensive recruitment campaign using billboards, radio, and social media, aiming to reach residents open to adoption.
Denise Price, Deputy County Manager, urged interested individuals to contact social services, emphasizing the need for more loving homes.
The county also hosts monthly virtual information sessions for prospective foster parents, offering resources and training to guide families through the adoption process. Read More... |
