Clutch Coffee Bar Transitions to Dutch Bros in Clemmons

Clutch Coffee Bar, a beloved fixture in Clemmons, is set to undergo a significant transformation.

 

The North Carolina-based chain has been acquired by Dutch Bros, a rapidly expanding coffee company headquartered in Arizona.

 

As a result, all Clutch locations, including the one at 2432 Lewisville Clemmons Road, will close on January 16 at 4 p.m. for renovations.

 

They will reopen under the Dutch Bros brand after a brief refurbishment period.

 

Founded in 2018 by Darren Spicer in Mooresville, Clutch Coffee Bar quickly became known for its drive-thru service and community engagement.

 

Spicer, who previously managed a Dutch Bros store in California, emphasized that this decision was made to accelerate Clutch's mission without compromising its core values.

 

In a statement, he expressed confidence that Dutch Bros' commitment to quality and community involvement aligns well with Clutch's principles.

 

Customers with Clutch Rewards can transfer their points to the Dutch Bros rewards program by submitting a form using the same email and phone number associated with their Clutch account by September 30, 2026.

 

Additionally, Clutch gift cards will be honored at the new Dutch Bros locations through December 31, 2026.

 

While some patrons have expressed excitement about the change, others are nostalgic about losing a local favorite.

 

One customer remarked, "This is exciting news!" while another lamented, "Please be a joke!"

 

Despite mixed reactions, the transition marks a significant expansion for Dutch Bros in the Carolinas.

 

Known for its high-energy drive-thru experience and customizable specialty drinks, Dutch Bros plans to operate over 2,000 shops by 2029.

 

Popular menu items include the Caramelizer, featuring espresso, caramel, and chocolate milk, and the Annihilator, combining espresso with chocolate macadamia nut flavor.

 

As  Clemmons prepares for this change, residents can look forward to experiencing Dutch Bros' unique offerings and community-focused approach.
