A $36 million charter school is coming to Clemmons — and it could reshape education and growth in West Forsyth

Legacy Traditional School Bringing More School Choice to West Forsyth

Legacy Traditional Schools, a prominent charter school network, is set to make a significant impact in Clemmons with the introduction of a new K-8 campus.

This development marks the organization's first foray into North Carolina, aiming to provide families in the West Forsyth area with expanded educational choices. Based in Arizona, they also operate schools in Texas, Nevada, and opening this May in South Carolina and serve over 27,000 students at 28 tuition-free charter schools.

The upcoming campus is designed to accommodate up to 1,200 students, emphasizing a curriculum rooted in patriotism, citizenship, and traditional learning methodologies.

The school closed on two parcels totaling about 14-acres on the western side of Lewisville-Clemmons Road near Holder Road. The purchase price was about $3-million dollars.

According to recent reports, the facility will encompass approximately 81,000 square feet, featuring multiple buildings and extensive recreational amenities, including athletic fields and play areas.

Additionally, plans include the development of adjacent parcels for retail purposes anchored by a Sheetz convenience store, enhancing the community's infrastructure.

Construction is slated to commence in May, with an estimated total investment of $36 million.

Upon completion, the school is expected to create numerous local employment opportunities, further contributing to the region's growth.

As the opening date approaches, families interested in enrolling their children are encouraged to stay informed about enrollment procedures and upcoming informational events.

The arrival of Legacy Traditional Schools in Clemmons signifies a transformative period for education in West Forsyth, offering a new avenue for academic excellence and community development.
