Traffic congestion at West Forsyth High School continues to frustrate parents and commuters, with no clear timeline for relief despite a recent NCDOT study focused on solutions.
In November 2024, the North Carolina Department of Transportation suggested extending the school’s car line and rerouting the exit toward Southwest School Road to keep vehicles off Lewisville-Clemmons Road.
While the Village of Clemmons approved funding for these changes in March, the start date is still pending.
In the interim, several parents received citations from the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office for stopping roadside during pick-up and drop-off.
Community members, like parent Renae Franks, support rerouting traffic as the most effective fix, especially since expanding Lewisville-Clemmons Road is not feasible.
Residents continue to call for urgent action to ease daily traffic headaches near the high school. Read More... |
