ā€œStay afraid, but do it anyway. What’s important is the action. You don’t have to wait to be confident. Just do it and eventually the confidence will follow.ā€

Lewisville’s own Austin Dillon scored his best road course finish ever with a sixth-place run at Watkins Glen International, shaking off a challenging history on twisting tracks.

Dillon started 25th but smart strategy from crew chief Richard Boswell, including a bold early pit stop, catapulted him into the top 10 for much of the race.

Flawless fuel management and steady driving netted Dillon not only his first top 10 since last August, but also helped Richard Childress Racing put two drivers—Dillon and teammate Kyle Busch—in the top 10 for the first time since the previous year.

Ty Dillon, Austin’s younger brother, finished a disappointing 33rd after mid-race strategy didn’t pay off, while Kaulig Racing teammate AJ Allmendinger surged to seventh.

With the NASCAR All-Star Race in Dover up next, Austin’s momentum is real—and local fans are rallying behind his hard-earned breakthrough on the national stage.
