Quote Of The Day
"To appreciate the beauty of a snowflake, it is necessary
to stand out in the cold." – Aristotle

Winter Storm Fern swept through Lewisville and Clemmons with far less impact than anticipated, leaving behind only light snow and minor power outages.

The Village of Clemmons took a proactive approach by declaring a state of emergency on January 23, 2026, helping local officials mobilize resources and ensure public safety.

Duke Energy had stationed hundreds of crews in Greensboro ready to respond, as statewide outages affected nearly 40,000 customers; however, the Triad region saw only minimal disruptions.

Company spokesperson Logan Stewart stressed the importance of safety and rapid response, especially due to dangerous driving conditions that often contribute to outages.

While mountain and rural areas faced more severe damage from ice and downed lines, Lewisville and Clemmons residents enjoyed the snow and expressed gratitude for the quick action by utility and local officials.

Duke Energy crews remain on standby, encouraging customers to report outages through their website, text, or by phone as winter weather continues.

The New England Patriots clinched a tight 10-7 win over the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship on January 25, 2026, earning a Super Bowl LX berth against the Seattle Seahawks.

This high-stakes game was especially meaningful for Clemmons’ West Forsyth High School, as alumni Ja’Quan McMillian (Broncos) and Jared Wilson (Patriots) faced off on football’s biggest stage.

McMillian, a dynamic Broncos cornerback, dazzled all season with 81 tackles and critical playoff plays, including a game-changing overtime interception versus Buffalo.

Meanwhile, Wilson anchored New England’s offensive line in his rookie season, bringing grit and consistency following a standout career at Georgia.

The AFC title matchup was a defensive grind, with Patriots quarterback Drake Maye and running back Rhamondre Stevenson leading a methodical offense.

For Clemmons, watching two hometown heroes compete at this level is a point of pride, inspiring young athletes with every play.

The journeys of McMillian and Wilson highlight West Forsyth High’s tradition of excellence and enduring community spirit.
