Jan 6, 2026

Welcome, Lewisville-Clemmons neighbors to your first full weekly community update of 2026!

We hope you are settling nicely into the new year! 🎉   We are kicking off the year with a massive celebration for our local athletes. A huge congratulations goes out to the West Forsyth Boys Basketball team for bringing home the title at the prestigious Frank Spencer Holiday Classic! 🏀🏆 It was a thrilling tournament run that reminded us all just how much talent we have right here in our own backyard.

On the roads, we have an important update regarding the NCDOT U-6004 project on Lewisville-Clemmons Road. We are breaking down what the latest construction phases mean for your daily commute as crews continue their work on this major widening initiative. 🚧

For those keeping an eye on the housing market 🏡, we are tracking a slight rise in mortgage rates this week compared to last. The 30-year fixed rate average is hovering in the low-to-mid 6% range. While experts predict a gradual decline later this year, the current activity suggests we may see a steady hold near these levels for the immediate future

Plus, we have a fresh lineup of local events to keep your calendar full this week. Let’s dive in!

Happy reading!

Quote Of The Day

"Experience is the name everyone gives to their mistakes."

- Oscar Wilde

The NCDOT is advancing the U-6004 project to upgrade Lewisville-Clemmons Road from U.S. 158 to South Peace Haven Road in Clemmons.

The project targets safety improvements and aims to reduce congestion along this vital corridor.

Budget projections have surged to about $70.7 million, with right-of-way purchases, utility relocations, and staged construction planned through fiscal year 2033.

Construction is expected to begin in 2027 and continue with major investments in the following years.

Clemmons is also seeing rapid development, including a recently approved 1.53-acre mixed-use project near I-40 at 6604 Village Pointe Lake Drive.

The Village Council’s approval signals a focus on supporting growth while preserving a strong sense of community.

Expanding infrastructure, services, and amenities reflects Clemmons’ evolution into a dynamic, self-sustaining destination for residents.
